Windows 7 is slotted to be the 7th major release of the Windows OS. the current estimated release date is in late 2009 to 2010. 7 has so far been shown running on machines with as little as 64MB of RAM, and also has been benchmarked in its early beats, these numbers have been vary promising. early numbers indicate a minimum of a 100% boost over current Vista scores. more can be found by simply searching Windows 7 or by simply clicking on some of the links. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Windows_7www.windowsvienna.com/news.cnet.com/windows-7-a-better-vista/

Vista sucks? ive been using it on a mid range system from 2007 and have only seen one problem, and that came when installing SP1.

Same, but then again I came to it from a 2000 PC so there’s some leeway in my opinion on it. But a friend of mine recently got a Vista Laptop and has all together stopped using his XP machine. To me that speaks much more.
Shour it cost the most out of all the OS’s but let’s look at inflation. A 100$ back in the 1990’s was worth one hell of a lot more than it is now a days. Plus, Apples even worse on there pricing…

For Vista users you should look the process who are running : I have xP and I use a lot of programs and I have about 30-35 processes. My best friend has Vista and has over 80 processes Oo. So sry if I seem lame but I won't use Vista, even if I have 4 GB of ram ( and I have).

Looks at processes on Vista, Xp and Win7
Vista 66 XP 48 Win7 52
I don’t see any coloration to the difference in performance from this.
What you need to keep in mind is not the processes but the processor clock, threading, and its calculations per second. Then you can determine where your process bottle neck may occur (in up in the 400+ range =) )
(By the way, Vista is SP1, XP is SP3 and Win 7 is with all patches up till this post)
One thing to keep in mind about Vista and XP is that Vista dos much, much more for the user than XP dose so don’t go bashing it for having more process
