The Bourne Identity is a 2002 film loosely based on Robert Ludlum's novel of the same name.
It stars Matt Damon as Jason Bourne, an amnesiac attempting to discover the truth of his identity amidst a conspiracy involving the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) of which he is the center. Along the way he teams up with Marie, played by Franka Potente, who assists him on his globe-trotting journey to learn about his past and regain his memories. The film also stars Chris Cooper as Alexander Conklin, Clive Owen as The Professor, Brian Cox as Ward Abbott, and Julia Stiles as Nicky Parsons.
The film was directed by Doug Liman and adapted for the screen by Tony Gilroy and William Blake Herron from the novel of the same name written by Robert Ludlum, who also produced the film alongside Frank Marshall. Universal Studios released the film to theaters in the United States on June 14, 2002 and it received a positive critical and public reaction. The film was followed by a 2004 sequel, The Bourne Supremacy, and a third part released in 2007 entitled The Bourne Ultimatum.

The Bourne Supremacy is a 2004 film loosely based on the Robert Ludlum novel of the same name. The film was directed by Paul Greengrass, written by Tony Gilroy and Brian Helgeland and produced by Doug Liman and Frank Marshall. Universal Studios released the film to theaters in the United States on July 23, 2004 and it received a positive critical and public reaction similar to its predecessor, The Bourne Identity. The film is followed by a 2007 sequel entitled The Bourne Ultimatum.
It is also a sequel to the 2002 film The Bourne Identity and the second film of the Bourne Trilogy. The Bourne Supremacy continues the story of Jason Bourne, an amnesiac and former CIA assassin played by Matt Damon, and his attempt to learn more of his shadowy past as he is once more enveloped in a conspiracy surrounding the CIA and Operation Treadstone. The film also stars Franka Potente as Marie Helena Kreutz, Brian Cox as Ward Abbott, Joan Allen as Pamela Landy and Julia Stiles as Nicolette Parsons.
It substantially deviates from its source material as Alexander Conklin is now dead and the CIA is Bourne's enemy rather than his friend (the plot actually incorporates aspects of the Bourne novel The Bourne Legacy written by Eric Van Lustbader as well). In addition, the book's narrative takes place in Hong Kong with Marie getting kidnapped so Bourne will accept a mission.

The Bourne Ultimatum is a 2007 film based on the Robert Ludlum novel of the same name.
A sequel to The Bourne Supremacy and the third film of the Bourne Trilogy, it stars Matt Damon reprising his role as Ludlum's signature character, amnesiac CIA assassin Jason Bourne. Julia Stiles, David Strathairn, Scott Glenn, Paddy Considine, Edgar Ramirez, Albert Finney, and Joan Allen co-star. The key cast members reprise their roles from the two previous Bourne movies, with additions such as Strathairn, playing a CIA department head; Considine as a British journalist; and Ramirez as a new assassin sent to kill Bourne. The film continues the saga of Jason Bourne after he apologizes to the daughter of Vladimir Neski in Moscow, Russia, and follows the character as he travels to Paris, London, Madrid, Turin, Tangier, and New York City to uncover his real identity, while the CIA continues to send assassins after him.
Paul Greengrass directed the film from a script by Tony Gilroy, Scott Z. Burns, George Nolfi, and an uncredited Tom Stoppard.
The producers were Patrick Crowley, Frank Marshall, Paul L. Sandberg, and Doug Liman, who directed the first Bourne movie, The Bourne Identity.
The Bourne Ultimatum was produced by Universal Pictures and was released on August 3, 2007 in North America, where it grossed $69.2 million in ticket sales in its first weekend of release, making it the highest August opening. By the end of August 2007, the film was said to be on track to exceed the international box office gross of the first two films in the trilogy.
Although all three films have been commercially successful and critically acclaimed, The Bourne Ultimatum is the first in the trilogy to receive Academy Award nominations.
