its probably running in DX10 mode for you because you have Vista and a DX10 native card. plus the games run and look better in DX10.

you can patch Xfire to support DX10 or just force DeadSpace to run in DX9. Xfire team is to lazy to code for DX10 when 11 is right around the corner.... lazy bums
